Climbing Mount Fuji is strongly advised against during this specific time of year since the entire mountain is usually covered in snow, making it very dangerous. Regardless, the streamer in question started a live broadcast entitled: ‘Let's Go to Snowy Mt. Fuji’.

A dangerous climb

After several hours of the live-stream, during which he was complaining about the cold, he said: ‘Oh, this place is slippery, getting dangerous. I’m trying to walk by the rocks, yes, rocks. It’s a steep downhill.’ TEDZU then slipped before quickly sliding down the mountain.

The live-stream then cut out and viewers quickly called the local police. His body was found where viewers believed he would be on the 30th of October by authorities.

Every year, thousands of people climb Mount Fuji, which is considered a sacred place in Japan but only during a very specific season, between July and August as this is typically the safest time to do so.
