IQ: 3 short questions to test your intelligence

How smart do you think you really are? If you want to find out, all you’ve got to do is try to answer correctly the following three seemingly simple questions.

We’ve all tried one of those random IQ tests found on a dodgy website, but how much can we really trust them? Take a shot at the following three questions and see if your logic is really on point or not. You may just learn something about yourself.

So what are these three famous questions?

Question 1

A baseball bat and a baseball cost a total of £1.10. The baseball bat costs £1 more than the ball does. How much does the ball cost?

Question 2

If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to produce 5 toys, how long does it take 100 machines to produce 100 toys?

Question 3

Upon a lake lies a bank of lily pads. Each day, the bank doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the lake to be completely covered by lily pads, how much time will it take for them to cover exactly half of the lake?

The different forms of intelligence

But you also shouldn't worry too much if you get these questions wrong. After all, intelligence can't just be measured by three questions. Some people display what is known as book smart, while others are a lot more street smart.

Similarly, school should not be the be-all-end-all of one's intelligence. While some people exceed academically, they sometimes lack social skills that areessential in succeeding in other aspects of life.

Think you’ve got it spot on? Or are you struggling with one (or three)? Well, look no further, check out the video above for the answers!
