Man sees his porn collection chucked

David Werking, 43, had just divorced and moved in temporarily with his parents, Beth and Paul Werking. After spending some time back home, Werking eventually found a home in Indiana. But the move didn't go exactly according to plans...

After laboriously packing all his belongings into a few boxes, David had his boxes shipped to his new home. When it came to unboxing them, though, a dozen boxes were missing. Books? Clothes? Not exactly... David didn't receive his pornographic collection.

A 'treasure'

His collection was made up of hundreds of films, magazines and toys... The 43-year-old man had a veritable 'treasure trove,' in the words of one judge. Trying to understand where the missing boxes had gone, David interrogated his parents, who simply said:

Frankly, David, I did you a great favour by getting rid of all this stuff.

This was not to David's liking. The divorce sued his parents for the damage. David assessed the damages at 25,000 USD, but demanded to triple this amount for 'Wanton Destruction of Property.' He eventually obtained $30,441.54, nearly £21,000. In addition, the parents had to pay $14,519.82 to David's lawyer.
