Even on a good day most of us are at the gym hoping our knees don't blow out but Sedykh truly suffered through everyone's worst nightmare.

Whilst competing in the World Raw Powerlifting Federation European Championships in Moscow, Alexander Sedykh attempted a crazy feat of squatting 400 kgs.

If you've used a squat rack before you'll know it required no only core strength but extremely strong muscles in the legs and butt to hoist the weight off the stand, squat down and then lift yourself back up to a standing position. However, many of us are barely pushing 100kgs let alone 400 which probably increases the chances of injury by quite a bit.

At first, the weightlifter seemed a little unsteady but quickly managed to stabilise himself under the 400kg mass. He lowered down for the squat but just as he was about to extend his legs to push back up, the weight shifted to his knees and caused them to buckle.

The video shows Sedykh screaming out in pain as his legs crumbled below him. But unfortunately, the footage cuts at about there but you can still see medics and spotters rushing to help.

Sedykh was rushed to hospital following the incident and was diagnosed with two dislocated knees and two ruptured quadriceps...ouch.

The weightlifter had to undergo a six-hour operation in order to stitch his muscles back up. Speaking after the incident he said:

The forecasts are as follows: Lie down for two months, do not move your legs. Then learn to walk again. I've had my quadriceps resewn and my knees put back together.

For know, rest sounds like a good idea.

You can watch the video of the incident above but be aware the content may be distressing.
