If you have a really bad memory, it’s good to know that all is not lost. The Archives of Sexual Behaviour journal has just published a study that could change your life. After analysing the behaviour of 6,000 people over the age of 50, researchers from the University of Wollongong in Australia have found that having sex had a real impact on their short-term memory. Information and data for this study were gathered over two years and professors asked participants to fill out a questionnaire based on theirsexual habitsand cognitive abilities. Two years later, the same thing again. The results show that the participants that had regular sex got better results on the memory tests.

Your memory improves with regular sex because having sex ‘stimulates certain brain areas associated with memory such as the hippocampus,’ explain researchers. The only downside is that only the short-term memory is stimulated - so if you’re still searching for your grandmother’s ring that you lost 20 years ago, you need to look for another method.
