Blue's Duncan James Is Headed For The Jungle After Signing Huge Deal

Duncan James is set to follow in the footsteps of his bandmates as he goes Down Under on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! this autumn. Duncan is said to have signed a 'huge' deal with I'm A Celeb producers to confirm his place on the show.

Fellow Blue singers Antony Costa and Simon Webbe appeared on the 2005 and 2008 series of I'm A Celeb respectively - with Simon finishing fifth in the show's eighth series. Antony finished sixth in his series, in which he appeared alongside the likes of Carol Thatcher, Jimmy Osmond and Sid Owen.

This isn't the first time that Duncan's been approached to appear on the ITV reality show and he previously claimed that he wouldn't do the show, saying: 'I have a massive phobia of snakes. If I saw one I’d pass out or I’d literally pee myself. I would never, ever be able to put my head in one of those tanks with creatures crawling about. I’d have a heart attack.'

However, this time pals say that the size of the impressive pay cheque was enough to convince him - and they reckon he's going to make a top campmate despite (or perhaps because of) his fears: 'The best campmates are the ones who have to overcome their fears — and Duncan has told them he is game for anything.'

As well as continuing to sing with Blue, who reunited after a six-year hiatus in 2011, Duncan has pursued an acting career, appearing in Hollyoaks for two years as Ryan Knight before being killed off in mid-2018. Since then, his career had slowed down somewhat, as he became the face of a Hull-based boiler company, ideal boilers, alongside his Blue bandmates at the start of this year. He'll undoubtedly be hoping for I'm A Celeb to offer his career a new boost.

Meanwhile, this year's series of I'm A Celeb is also set to feature a host of other big-name stars - check out the video above to see who else is rumoured to be joining the line-up!
