It’s been over nine months since 20-year-old Peter Sawkins was crowned the youngest ever Great British Bake Off winner, and we’re more than ready for some more wholesome baking content on our tellies. The Great British Bake Off is returning to Channel 4 next Tuesday (21 September) hosted by Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding and judged by Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

Great British Bake-Off 2021 line-up
So who’s going to be in the tent? This year’s line-up includes Met Police Detective, Amanda, who often opts for Greek and Middle Eastern flavours in her baking, inspired by her Greek-Cypriot heritage. Shared lives coordinator George also comes from a Greek-Cypriot background and enjoys baking with his three kids.
Head of finance, Jairzeno, moved to the UK from Trinidad 15 years ago and often uses Caribbean spices in his cooking. Meanwhile, IT professional Jürgen is originally from the Black Forest in Germany and is especially good at challah bread and celebration cakes. Crystelle speaks four languages and likes to spice her bakes up with flavours from all over the world.
Youngest and oldest bakers on Bake-Off
At 19 years old, vegan psychology student Freya will be hoping to smash Peter Sawkins’ record for youngest ever Bake Off winner. Meanwhile, the oldest baker in the tent this series is 70-year-old Maggie—a retired nurse and midwife whose speciality is bread.
Rounding out the line-up are lockdown baker and sales manager Chigs, chief engineer and precision baker Giuseppe, ex-dancer Rochica, software developer and am-dram fan Tom and car production operative Lizzie. Best of luck to all the bakers, we can’t wait to get to know them all better very soon!
