Snake venom sure is a deadly name to give a beer, but it’s fitting when just one shot glass is enough to knock you out.

There’s nothing quite like a refreshing pint of beer. While some of us do prefer a strong, hardy beer this Scottish brand might be taking things a little too far.

The world’s strongest beer

Snake Venom is the strongest beer in the world and it has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of a ghastly 67.5%. To compare the UK’s most popular beer, which is Guinness Draught, has an ABV of just 4.2%. Now, it may sound like this drink has come out of the depths of hell itself, but it’s actually made by Brewmeister, a brand from Keith Brewery Ltd in Scotland.

This is not the first time the brand created a drink that was deemed the strongest in the world. In fact, the beer that previously held the title was their very own brew called the Armageddon.

Product warning

Ever since the launch of Snake Venom in 2013, their popularity has skyrocketed with beer-lovers itching to get a taste of this world-famous beverage. However, it’s not the most affordable drink, coming at £40 for a bottle. LadBible reports that customers aren’t allowed to purchase more than two bottles in one order and are only recommended to drink 35 ml at a time—that’s only a little more than a shot glass!

The product is sold on Drink Supermarket and comes with a warning that says:

!! WARNING !! This beer is not for the faint-hearted, it is recommended to enjoy in small doses of 35ml measures. We are not responsible for the risks you may take and don't encourage you to be the hard(wo)man, hence you can only purchase a maximum of 2 bottles per order!

So, if you enjoy a drink that will kick the living spirit out of your body, you might want to give this drink a shot—just one though!

How to sober up quickly

In case you end up drinking more than the recommended amount, here’s what you can do to avoid feeling hungover the next morning.

When you’reintoxicated, chances are you’re severely dehydrated as well. So before you go to bed, muster up the last bit of energy that you have to put a huge bottle of water next to your bed. Experts at Healthline recommend that you drink one glass before you go to bed, and then take a few sips every time you happen to wake up. If your head is still splitting in the morning, take an advil to help you get through the day.
