Following the vegetarian Happy Meal and the vegan burger, it’s now the McNuggets turn to abandon meat in favour of vegetables! A vegan friendly initiative that is pleasing many.

The little vegan nuggets consist not of chicken but of potatoes, chickpeas, onions, carrots and corn. This unctuous mash is then coated with a layer of bread crumbs and the whole thing is fried in a hot oil. So, the appearance is that of an ordinary chicken nugget but with a 100% vegan composition. A good alternative for those who do not eat meat.

For the moment, McDonald's remains one of the only fast-food restaurants to offer a sustainable vegan menu. McVegan nuggets are currently being tested in several establishments in Norway, but it will take some time before the formula is offered in the UK.
