Popeyes, one of America's biggest multi-national fast-food chains to serve fried chicken is celebrating the grand opening of its 3000th store worldwide. And what could be a better opportunity than this to add a new item to the menu? Some would even call it a delicacy.

Indeed, you can now purchase southern-fried chicken hand-battered in champagne and finished with 24-karat gold dusting at select stores in the US. Whilst the 24-karat champagne wings are only served at 4 restaurants, the company says that they're looking to bring the 6-piece bucket meal to more locations nationwide.
The best part is that it's not as expensive as it sounds! Unlike the Ainsworth restaurants in New York, serving their golden wings for an extortionate grand total of 1000 dollars, Popeye's gold-dusted wings are on offer for a sweet amount of only 5 dollars (only £3.83!) along with a side of your choice and a biscuit. Whilst we'd like to hold onto our big bucks, we wouldn't mind spilling a little cash for this golden little treat...
