Although we regularly hear from the media that we need to eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day, this can be difficult if you’re looking for ones without pesticides!
Healthy eating in 2019 seems to be getting more and more complicated. Even though brands offering organic products are becoming more prevalent, the products remain quite expensive and many people cannot afford to spend so much money on fruit and vegetables.
So how do we know if what we’re eating is truly safe? We all have small clementines on our tables at Christmastime, but did you know that about 88% of the samples tested were carrying pesticide residues?
Endives, often eaten in summer salads with apples and pieces of cheese are about 72% contaminated! The risk to the consumer is of course toxic material which could lead to neurological, behavioural, developmental, or fertility disorders or even certain cancers.
So, try as much as possible to eliminate the fruit and vegetables seen in the video and opt for organic farming! You can also turn to fruit and vegetables with far fewer pesticides such as plums, kiwis, cauliflowers and asparagus.
