'I think now is a great time as any to announce: I have a special announcement to make,' he said, adding, 'I am taking a break from YouTube next year. I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind.'

Gaming content creator Felix Kjellberg known as PewDiePie on Youtube and other social media platforms is one the most, if not the most popular personality on Youtube. He has made headlines in the past for the wrong reasons specifically several incidents that sparked outrage, the most controversial video was a performance of himself in a Nazi 'Heil' Salute and one in which he hired a pair of performers from a freelancer website to hold up a sign reading 'Death to all Jews.' He said these examples were satirical, but many observers condemned them as anti-Semitic.

The Swedish creator apologised and fans have forgiven him and the reason for him taking a break from Youtube is elsewhere:

'I'm tired. I'm tired. I'm feeling very tired. I don't know if you can tell,' he added, all the while laughing and clapping. 'Just so you know, early next year, I'll be away for a little while. I'll explain that later, but I wanted to give heads up.'

This decision comes after Youtube outlined changes to its anti-harassment policy, which has come under fire for making the influencers' work very difficult.

In a more recent video posted by the Youtube star, he has taken up his reaction to the world's reaction to his 'quitting' Youtube. We put quitting in parentheses because as he puts it himself he's just going to be taking a break. We don't think PewdiePie has any intention of quitting something he loves to do, and we're sure he still has a lot more to offer.
