The most viewed viral video in the world

In 2007, the Davis-Carr family's lives changed forever after the patriarch of the clan uploaded a 56-second video of toddlers Harry and Charlie playing around where Charlie famously bites his big brother Harry's index finger prompting the eldest son to yell 'Ouch Charlie! That really hurt.'

Almost overnight, the video exploded on the internet after it somehow ended on a college network website in the U.S. eventually gaining its iconic status as the most viral video in the world. The family has decided to auction it off as a NFT, saying that:

Seen by over 880 million people, Charlie Bit My Finger is the most-viewed viral video of all time. The beloved clip has become a household name and holds a special place in the hearts of many.

And adding:

Now, the iconic video will be removed from YouTube and one person will have the opportunity to own it in its new form as a 1/1 NFT, memorializing them in internet history forever. The NFT winner will also get the opportunity to create their own parody of the video featuring the original stars, Harry and Charlie.

NFTs—or Non-Fungible Tokens—are digital assets unique and unexchangeable that hold crypto token value currently gaining lots of traction within the celebrity world.

How much money have they made off the video?

In 2017, the Mirror reported that the family had made around £1 million in royalties meaning that at this point, they have likely made even more.
