Tragic death
According to Focus Online, the passenger had flown to Istanbul a week before his sudden death. He had boarded the Pegasus Airlines flight at around 10 am and the flight was an estimated three and a half hours long. The exact timing of his death is unknown as the cabin crew only discovered his lifeless body when they landed in Hamburg at 1 pm but forensic experts believe that he passed away mid-flight.
Pegasus Airline clarified, in a statement, that the man was only allowed onboard after complying to the proper COVID protocol. He had provided a certificate which proved he had been fully vaccinated and hence no PCR test results were necessary for his trip. A spokesperson from the Hamburg health authority told Focus Online:
In general, the provisions of the entry regulations apply, according to which either a test or proof of vaccination must be presented when entering from Turkey.
We extend our condolences to the family and neighbours of the passenger.
Authorities still do not know whether or not he was exhibiting any COVID symptoms prior to boarding the flight.
COVID symptoms in fully vaccinated
Getting vaccinated against COVID doesn’t guarantee that you’ll never be infected in your life. A number of breakthrough cases have been reported all over the world but the medical professionals have observed that double-jabbed individuals are more likely to get less severe symptoms, unless they have underlying health issues.
Here are the most common symptoms that have been reported by fully vaccinated people who got infected by the virus:
- Headache
- Runny nose
- Sneezing
- Sore throat
- Loss of smell
