The Grudge, directed by Japanese director Takashi Shimizu and released in the early 2000s, traumatised most of a generation. Today, Netflix announced that they want to bring this trauma to as many people as possible by adapting the film into a series for 2020!
We don't know much yet about this The Grudge project launched by Netflix, except that the project was entrusted to a very young Japanese director named Sho Miyake. However, the American firm announced that we should not have to wait long to be shocked since the series will be launched on the streaming platform in 2020.
As for the content of the series, it is difficult to say more at the moment. We can imagine that the long-haired entity will be back and will continue to afflict new heroes with the curse that spreads like a virus.
Surprisingly, the timing of the release could coincide with the possible release of the 4th film of the saga. Indeed, Wikipedia still indicates that a The Grudge film will be released in the United States on January 3, 2020. Has this project been cancelled and replaced by a Netflix series? Time will tell.
