The Star Wars saga has been back in the spotlight for a few months now. First with the ninth movie released last December, but also through several Star Wars series that have been announced. There is The Mandalorian which is a hit, and a series about Obi-Wan which should be released soon.
In the meantime, Star Wars fans will be able to discover the Sport Saber League. This league focused on the handling of a light sabre, is being organised as a French Open for the 5th time. This tournament will be held at Charlety Stadium on May 23rd and 24th, 2020. 72 participants from 10 different countries will fight in front of more than 3000 people.
The Sport Saber League is the first lightsaber fighting club in France and currently has 250 members. As its name suggests, it specialises in lightsaber fighting. This practice has been regulated by the French Fencing Federation since 2019.
The fight takes place in a square track of 26 feet by 26 feet. Every time you touch your opponent's torso or head, you score 3 points. The other parts of the body score 1 point.
