Driver left shocked as flying turtle smashes into windscreen

Latonya Lark was minding her own business driving down the freeway when a flying turtle got itself lodged into her windscreen.

Latonya Lark and her brother Kevin Grant were driving down a Georgia freeway when a turtle that was somehow shooting through the air managed to crash into Lark's windshield, lodging itself into the screen.

The turtle was thought to be clipped by a speeding car sending it flying into the air.

No serious injuries were sustained by either Lark or her brother Grant but both the windscreenand theturtlehad seen better days. Grant, who only sustained a few small cuts stated:

When the glass broke, the first thing that came to my mind was just to shield myself

The car had to be towed away but the turtle had to have a leg amputated and passed away in the following days from the blood loss.

Latonya Lark posted the freak accident to Facebook where she received quite the response from her friends, one stated:

Just when you think you’ve seen it all. Corona, murder hornets, now flying turtles! We’re doomed!

My prior delimer... Mr Turtle was found at fault but he did not have insurance. He got escorted to the Wildlife reserve,...

Latonya later spoke to news outlet WSAV News where she claimed that she initially thought someone had thrown a brick:

Even the police officer said if that glass wasn’t as thick as it was and I didn’t slow down the way I did when I saw the object coming, it would’ve been disastrous.

Lark has also used the opportunity to urge drivers to watch theirspeedas the turtle could have caused some serious damage:

If people are not paying attention to the road…you know, whoever hit that turtle, they had to have been flying.
