Her Neighbors Reported Her Airbnb, So She Got Revenge In A Very Peculiar Way

By Nancy Youm

In the United States, California to be precise, a quarrel between neighbors that took an unusual and unexpected turn went viral on social networks.

A rental issue

In California, in the city of Manhattan Beach, a quarrel between neighbors pushed an American woman to repaint her house pink.

For a few years now, it has been forbidden to rent out apartments for less than thirty days in this small town. Why? Because locals don't want to see their city lose its authenticity, and would like to avoid being flooded with tourists.

This rule was overlooked by Kathryn Kidd, who continued to rent her house on Airbnb. After being reported by her neighbors, the American woman had to pay a $4,000 fine. Instead of entering into a nasty neighbor dispute, Kathryn Kidd chose to respond in an unusual way.

A colorful response

Indeed, the American woman fought back at her neighbors by painting her entire house bright pink, with two giant emojis.

Kathryn Kidd discussed her decision with EasyReaderNews. According to her, it should not be seen as an attack, but rather a message of peace:

"Instead of everybody being so gloomy, always so depressed, always in other people's business, I just wanted to send a message to be happy, be colorful, be positive, and enjoy."

Unfortunately, many of her neighbors are displeased with this message.
