The daily Rodong Sinmun, the Korean Workers' Newspaper, confirms this information in an article written on Sunday 16 May:

History teaches us a crucial lesson that a country can become vulnerable and eventually collapse like a wall, regardless of its economic and defence power, if we do not hold on to our own lifestyle.

The state-run newspaper also warned that more needed to be done to combat the 'invasion of a capitalist way of life' from the West, which was deemed 'decadent.'

The newspaper also warns that youth living in North Korea are more likely to be influenced by the 'exotic' lifestyle of capitalism. 'One should be wary of the slightest sign of the capitalist lifestyle and fight to get rid of it,' it reads. Under the new laws put in place by Kim Jong-un, men and women can only have one of 15 alternative haircuts allowed in North Korea.

The family in power!

Kim Jong-un is not the only on in the Kim family to hold North Korea in an iron fist. His younger sister, Kim Yo-jong, has also established herself as one of the most powerful figures in the country. As the Korean dictator's health has deteriorated, Kim Jong-un is said to have made a secret pact with his younger sister. He even delegated an increasing number of responsibilities to Kim Yo-jong in order to reduce his stress. A few days later, he appeared in the media in good health.
