You Can Zoom Into People’s Faces In This 195 Billion Pixel Photo Of Shanghai

A 195-billion pixel photograph of Shanghai has impressed internet users. And we can understand why!

Do you marvel at a photo of your cat taken with your 12 megapixel phone or with your 18 megapixel camera? Then you’ll be in for a treat with this shot of the city of Shanghai in China taken by a… 195 billion pixel camera!

Indeed, for several days, a photo taken above Shanghai has been making the rounds of the social networks. It is the work of the Chinese start-up Big Pixel and was taken from the Pearl of the Orient, a 1500 foot high tower located in the business district of Shanghai.

This snapshot is so incredibly accurate that if the user zooms in to the maximum, you can see the license plate numbers on the cars or the faces of the passersby. It is really quite amazing. Photography fans cannot wait for this technology to be accessible to as many people as possible!
