Mat Fraser is the most ‘in shape’ man on the planet. The three-time defending CrossFit Games champion trains day and night to stay on top. But his preparation work for the Open is not only about WOD and CrossFit.

He weighs 13.5 stone and measures 5’ 5” and uses electro-stimulation in order to strengthen his muscles. The evidence is in a video posted on his Instagram account dated October 30th. You can see the champion developing his shoulders with a small object placed between the latissimus dorsi muscle and his serratus anterior muscle.

‘I work using resistance cycles with strict presses, by pushing between contractions,’ said Fraser. In short, he pushes while the contraction is weak and stops when it is the strongest. This allows the muscles to continue to work even while at rest. Be careful, this type of training is not suitable for everyone.
