One Brazilian nurse named Simone Anjos dos Santos, 41, was apprehended by police after allegedly ripping out the catheters of several newborn babies in hospital.

Following the incident, video surveillance footage emerged showing the woman seemingly tampering with the equipment hooked up to the babies. Despite the footage suggesting otherwise, the woman denies all the allegations mounted against her.
Multiple babies affected in hospital
The scene unfolded at Hospital Real D'Or in Rio de Janeiro just recently. Anjos dos Santos, who has worked as a nurse for over a decade, can be seen in the video removing an object from the incubator that was housing a newborn baby.
One of her fellow nurses inspected the area and had seen that the baby's catheter had been cut. Upon searching the hospital, nurses were able to identify 3 other babies that had their equipment tampered with.
Simone Anjos dos Santos is currently in police custody on suspicion of attemped murder.
