Earlier this year, in Detroit USA, 13 lorries lined themselves up, side by side under a bridge. At the request of the police, this joint effort had an incredible and heart-warming outcome.
According to Fox News, the Detroit police were the ones who asked the truckers for help. It was to help a man who threatened to kill himself, by jumping from the bridge that overlooked a busy highway.
Unique to this case was the fact that the police had specifically called for the truck drivers to help reduce the fall impact if the man was to jump. After the Detroit police posted a picture of the action on Twitter it received more than 3000 retweets and 6000 likes.Users who loved the heart-warming and innovative idea commented on the photo praising the work of both the police and the truckers. Some said ‘Great work people’ while others thought it was ‘a very smart idea’. Fortunately, the trucks were not needed in the end at all as the man did not jump. He was instead rescued and taken to a local hospital.
