Despite weighing sixty kilos soaking wet, this horse travelled with its owner in the cabin, who had to reserve two seats for the flight, reports Today. The 7-year-old mare was a real attraction during the 1.5-hour flight. She even had the right to a photo with the crew.

They were fantastic and kind and very excited to see Flirty on their flight! Even the pilots had to come out and say 'Hi.'

Flirty is what is known as a ‘service animal.’ Her owner is allergic to dog hair, so she opted for a mare. It relieves her of intense stress and reminds her to take her medication. Abrea Hensley told a local newspaper:

I don't know what I would do without her, even if I was cured today. She's my constant companion,.

United States law allows these service animals to accompany their owners everywhere, even on board flights. Owners must provide the necessary documentation and certificates.

American Airline told Today that it recognises the ‘important role trained service dogs, cats and miniature horses can play in lives of those with disabilities, including, but not limited to visual impairments, deafness, seizures, and mobility impairments.’

However, the journey was stressful for both the animal and its owner. Abrea Hensley on her social media:

It’s just too difficult to make sure Flirty doesn’t inconvenience other passengers. Flirty couldn’t help jostling the seat of the person in the last row of first-class every time she moved.
