Pleased with her new sunglasses, this American mother took a selfie to share her new style with her friends on social media. The problem was that she noticed a strange presence in the reflection in her sunglasses…

A paranormal phenomenon?

As the Daily Mail reports, Sara Medeiros got the fright of her life when she had a closer look at the selfie she had taken. In the reflection in her sunglasses, strange figures can be seen holding each other arm in arm... The mother from Massachusetts says she was completely alone in her home at the time of the photo.

Intrigued and terrified, she posted the photo on Quora, hoping to get help from other users. According to a psychic, it was spirits living in her house. Sara Medeiros could even be the victim of dark energy that is attached to her... Creepy!

Internet users come to her aid

This version of the story is far from convincing for many internet users, and several amateur detectives have tried to find more rational explanations to reassure the young woman. The angle of the photo, lighting, an optical illusion... What if her three children had simply played a joke on her? Many also advised her to be wary of psychics…

People see what they want to see. I don't see what you see. It's just reflections/lighting effects. Sometimes the simplest explanations are the best!
Please don't listen to 'psychic mediums' or have an open mind to the presence of ghosts. This is the 21st century. You're probably more likely to spot an alien than a ghost.
Interesting story but I think we see what we want to see or what we might fear to see. This image is just a reflection of light or distorted images taken in a specific frame, nothing more.

Ghosts, reflections, or an optical illusion? We'll probably never know the whole story, but most of the internet seems to have already made up their minds...

What about you, what do you see?
