Saudi Arabia Sets Out To Build The World's Fastest Roller Coaster (VIDEO)

Saudi Arabia has announced an amazing new theme park construction project that is expected to be completed by 2023. Visitors will discover the world's fastest "roller coaster", which is expected to reach a speed of 250 km/h.

Attention, thrill seekers! In a series of tweets posted on August 26, Saudi Arabia presented its latest futuristic project: a huge entertainment city called Qiddiya, which will have several amusement parks, sports facilities (golf courses, ski slopes...) and driving circuits, but also... the fastest roller coaster in the world.

Loops at over 250 km/h

As Le Figaro explained, this huge complex, which is located about forty kilometers from the capital, Riyadh, will spread over 330 km2 of desert and be "dedicated to fun, sports and art". Its inauguration is expected to take place in 2023, as reported by Forbes.

And one most awaited attractions of the 28 that were announced is undoubtedly "Falcon's Flight", a terrifying roller coaster that is expected to travel at a speed of over 250 km/h, a world record. And speaking of records, the park will also have the world's tallest fall tower, dubbed the Sirroco Tower.

Currently, the fastest roller coaster in the world is in Abu Dhabi, where "Formula Rossa" at the "Ferrari World" theme park reaches the very high speed of 240 km/h... in less than 5 seconds.

Environmental issues raised by the entertainment city

And the environment will not be left out in this temple of entertainment. The project also includes a number of pedestrian and cycling routes, and 70% of the site will be dedicated to the conservation of nature, says Le Figaro. Lastly, it's worth noting that the park is intended to be open 24/7...
