Moment A Senior Pilot Plunges Into Sleep While Operating A Jet Full Of Passengers Mid-Flight

A senior pilot with over 20 years of experience in the field had been captured on camera whilst he had fallen asleep in the cockpit of an aircraft mid-flight.

Among the seven-day strikes organised by China Airlines pilots to protest severe fatugue over long hours, a senior pilot whose name is not known had been filmed by his co-pilot whilst he fell asleep aboard a Boeing 747 whilst flying the aircraft.

According to reports, the senior officer for China Airlines who is known to fly the Tokyo, Okinawa, Seoul and Hong Kong routes, had received punishment for failing to follow safety regulations alongside his co-pilot who was held responsible at the failure of waking him up.

In the clip, the expert pilot is seen slumped into his seat whilst in a deep slumber in front of the controls. Flight safety guidelines state that pilots in control of the aircraft can sleep periodically on longer flights, provided that they're sat away from controls with the seat pulled back. It hasn't been confirmed at which point of the flight the video was captured.

Check out the full clip above.
