We all have different passions. Even if some of them seem a bit strange, they will never match those of Tom Peters. He doesn’t believe he is a dog – he is aware that he is a human – but he loves man’s best friend so much that he has decided to spend part of his life dressed as a Dalmatian.

Humans Pups is a new trend! As weird and a little creepy as it sounds; this new lifestyle gets more enthusiasts for the matter every day. This practice's adepts play with squeaky toys, eat from bowls and nuzzle their 'handlers'.

His dog name? “Spot.” Along with his cute name, he dresses up head to toe as a spotted dog and behaves like one. The realisation was not without its repercussions: it led to a breakup with his former fiancee Rachel and a move into a gay relationship with his new handler. Colin...

'I wouldn’t say it was the catalyst, but it was the straw that broke the camel’s back,' says Tom. 'Then I had this moment of panic because a puppy without a collar is a stray; they don’t have anyone to look after them. I started chatting to Colin online and he offered to look after me. It’s a sad thing to say, but there’s not love from the heart in me for Colin – but what I have got is someone who is there for me and I’m happy with that.'

Just like a good dog, he sleeps in a cage, walks on all fours, and eats dog food. Outside of this, he has a real human life that he spends as a theatre lighting specialist.

Tom hopes that people will stop fearing his passion. He insists on the fact that he’s not doing anyone any harm, and that these enthusiasts just want to have fun passing as puppies.
