Khoirul Anam from Magelang, Java announced his marriage to the kitchen appliance on Facebook with pictures from the ceremony.

‘Knows how to Cook’

In the images posted online, Anam could be seen wearing traditional white wedding attire, while his rice cooker bride had a veil on.

They were photographed 'sitting' together for the signing of the marriage documents. He was even pictured kissing his new electric bride.

Anam described his wife as:

...fair, quiet, obedient, doesn’t talk much, knows how to cook.

Short-lived Union

Anam who has built quite the reputation for pulling eccentric stunts such as this on social media, shocked his followers some more when he announced he was annulling the union.

He had been married to the rice cooker for just four days. Describing his decision as a difficult one, he shared with his Facebook friends that:

My decision is round.. heavy indeed.. but this is the way I take.. no perfect partner..

Although this was a likely attention-seeking stunt, it worked on his followers, who were left dumbfounded by it all. Some tried to make light of it, with one user saying:

If it was serious, he would’ve married a Tiger or Zojirushi rice cooker. But a Philips rice cooker? You don’t marry that. That’s just for quick sushi calls.

Another user joked, saying:

not everyone can handle the pressure of married life.
