If young Victor Martin has to go outside in order to study, it's because his mother cannot afford to pay for electricity, says L'Obs, who spotted the video. Despite numerous requests over the last 10 years, the local energy supplier has never agreed to install a meter for lack of funds.

The images were broadcast by the city police and were quickly relayed by many internet users moved by the boy’s situation, on social networks. So much so that the mayor of the municipality, Arturo Fernández Bazán, went to meet Victor in person. Touched by his situation, the elected official offered him school supplies, and promised to install electricity in his home, at the expense of the municipality.

And during the renovations, Victor will be able to go to the city library thanks to a shuttle which will be left freely at his disposal.
