After many Brits have been left devastated by the cancellation of this summer’s Love Island, ITV bigwig Kevin Lygo has said that the channel’s other big reality show, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is still ‘likely to return this year’ - and we’ve already got an idea who could be appearing!
Whilst there now won’t be a new series of Love Island until 2021, ITV bosses are still determined to go ahead with a new series ofI’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this winter. Whilst he admitted that ITV is seeking alternatives in case the show can’t be made this year, Kevin Lygo said that I’m A Celeb is ‘likely to return this year’.
So who could be on the line-up this year? Last year, soap star Jacqueline Jossa took the jungle crown, with other memorable campmates including Caitlyn Jenner, Ian Wright and Kate Garraway. And the producers look set to build on their success with another cast of soap stars, sporting legends and reality stars.
The soap stars currently being tipped to appear on the show this year include Corrie’s Beverley Callard who recently quit her 30-year role as Liz McDonald. Fellow ex-Corrie actress Lucy Fallon has also been rumoured after supposedly turning down a spot last year but telling producers that ‘the timing is right’ now.
After Kate Garraway’s success last year, several well-known presenters are now being rumoured for the I’m A Celeb 2020 lineup – including long-running This Morning presenter Richard Madeley, ex-One Show and Blue Peter host Matt Baker and Piers Morgan’s long-suffering Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid.
Also rumoured to be heading into the jungle are snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan, ex-footballer John Barnes and Manchester United legend Eric Cantona – who’d be sure to be a big personality in camp. From the reality TV side of things, Love Island’s Maura Higgins and her ex’s brother, Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard, are also tipped to appear.
