After months of speculation, I’m A Celeb is finally set to make its return to our screens this weekend. The new series will see celebs including Richard Madeley, Frankie Bridge and Adam Woodyatt make camp in Wales’ Gwrych Castle for three weeks. But what fearsome challenges await them?

I’m A Celeb 2021 first trial revealed

ITV generally keeps information about the trials under wraps until the series airs, but some preparations for this series are a little too large to hide away. This week, pictures have been taken of some dizzyingly tall platforms being constructed above Alexandra Quarry, which is just over an hour away from Gwrych Castle by car.

This has led to speculation that the 2021 campmates’ first challenge could see them walk the plank above the hair-raising drop. This would be in line with previous opening episodes. Whether in Australia or in Wales, the first episode of I’m A Celeb often tests the camp mates mettle by having them complete a challenge high up in the air.

I’m A Celeb return

The I’m A Celeb 2021 cast are currently in their second week of self-isolating prior to entering Gwrych Castle—where they will form a Covid bubble. This year’s camp mates are: EastEnders stalwart Adam Woodyatt, Corrie star Simon Gregson, Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, choreographer Arlene Phillips, presenter Richard Madeley, Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, Radio 1 Extra’s Snoochie Shy, Olympic diver Matty Lee, football legend David Ginola, athlete Kadeena Cox, music producer Naughty Boy and ex-BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin. Rudimental star DJ Locksmith is also in isolation and is believed to be a reserve celeb.

The first episode of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2021 is set to air at 9pm on ITV1 on Sunday 21st November.
