After the news broke yesterday that she had split from Strictly star Giovanni Pernice, the odds have been shortened dramatically on Maura Higgins becoming a camp mate on I’m A Celeb 2021. If the rumours are true, Maura would be making history as the first ex-Love Islander to ever appear on the show.

Following the revelation that her four-month relationship with Giovanni is now over, Ladbrokes have been offering 7/2 odds on the ex-Islander heading to Gwrych Castle. Jessica O’Reilly, who works for the bookies, said:

With her ex-Giovanni making all the headlines on Strictly, a stint on I'm A Celebrity would be the perfect opportunity for Maura to create her own.

What has Maura said about I’m A Celeb?

Last year, Maura confirmed that she ‘wouldn’t turn down’ the opportunity to appear on I’m A Celeb—although she did also say that she’d prefer to wait for the show to return to the Australian jungle before signing up. When asked about a potential appearance on the show back in 2020, she said:

I don’t think I’d go well with being in the cold. As hard as that show would be, with all the insects and the heights and everything, I think I’d rather be in a hot country.

Who else is in the I’m A Celeb 2021 line-up?

ITV are still keeping the I’m A Celeb 2021 line-up a secret - although it has been finalised and revealed to Ant and Dec. Some of the other names strongly rumoured to be going into the castle are presenter Richard Madeley, soap stars Adam Woodyatt and Simon Gregson, choreographer Arlene Phillips, ex-Saturdays star Frankie Bridge and Olympic diver Matty Lee.
