One of the stars of I’m A Celeb 2020, Giovanna Fletcher, has faced disappointment already as producers have vetoed her first choice of luxury item. Traditionally, each celeb is allowed to take one luxury into camp with them – but not everything is allowed. Giovanna’s bestie Emma Willis revealed why her plan got thwarted…
One of the biggest decisions each celeb has to make before heading into the jungle–or in 2020, the castle–is what to take with them as their sole luxury item. In previous years, celebs have chosen concealer, a pillow, a photo of family members or seasoning to spice up the endless bland bowls of rice and beans.
But before going onto I’m A Celeb 2020, Giovanna Fletcher got some insider advice from her close friend Emma Willis–who used to host the spin-off show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!NOW! and whose husband Matt was crowned King of the Jungle all the way back in 2006.
Emma told The Sun this week that she advised Giovanna to go for a pair of long cycling shorts as her luxury item–to avoid getting any of the inevitable creepy crawlies creeping anywhere uncomfortable! But whilst Giovanna was planning to take Emma’s sage advice, the show’s producers were having none of it.
Why was I’m A Celeb 2020 Giovanna Fletcher’s luxury item banned?
Whilst the I’m A Celeb cast are allowed to choose a luxury item, this can’t be an item of clothing. Instead, they all have to wear the traditional uniform provided–which will feature warmer wear this year for obvious reasons–although they can style it however they want. In addition celebs are allowed to pack three swimsuits and three sets of underwear each.
Winner of I’m A Celeb 2020: Giovanna Fletcher?
Despite this early setback, Emma has already tipped Giovanna for victory on this year’s series of I’m A Celeb, saying:
Genuinely, like she is just an incredible human being… she's fun and she's one of the nicest human beings. And I mean, if she doesn't walk out the winner I'd be very surprised.
