Addicted to tattoos, Eli Ink doesn’t have a single centimetre on his skin that hasn’t been covered in ink.
Eli Ink is a big fan of body art and a tattoo artist who has turned his body into a true “work of art”. The man from Brighton is covered from head to toe in tattoos, to the point where there is not a single place on his body that hasn’t been inked. And if that wasn’t enough, Eli also has nose piercings as well as stretchers in his mouth and ear lobes.
His love for body modification is nothing new and goes quite far back. Eli told the Mail Online that he developed a passion for tattoos when he was a child and his uncle came back from a holiday in Spain with a tribal tattoo. Ten years ago, he set out on his own adventure that he would never come back from. He is aware that his appearance is not normal and might shock some people and so knows that he will not be accepted straight away by everyone who isn’t close to him. “In my opinion, the only person who will only ever understand my transition properly is me. I don’t attempt to describe it to anyone,” he said.
“I’ve always been blown away by art itself. Picasso is a huge childhood inspiration to me,” explains Eli who sees himself as a character from one of the master’s paintings. “I will never be finished. It will take me the rest of my life to finish my studies, but I am dedicating the rest of my life to body modification and perfecting my work,” says the man from Brighton who admits that his lifestyle is risky. In fact, he has even tainted his sclerae (the whites of his eyes) black which was a very delicate operation that required ink to be injected into his eyeballs between two layers of the sclera.
As for criticism that he receives from other people, he just laughs it off. Although he prefers compliments about his unusual appearance, he takes criticism with a pinch of salt. He even found a girlfriend that shares his views in art and tattoos and with who he has found true love.
