You’d be surprised at how creative people can be when it comes to earning money, but Stephanie Matto’s bizarre business idea definitely takes the cake. Using her fame from her appearance on 90 Day Fiancée, she’s been making up to $50,000 a week. How?

Selling farts

As much as this sounds like a practical joke, it’s actually not. Stephanie has truly created a whole side hustle by selling her farts to online admirers and fans. In fact, she was getting requests to send things like used underwear, dirty bathwater, and hair, from men and women alike. She decided to settle on flatulence, as it was an unexploited market. She told Buzzfeed:

Over the years, I've gotten a few messages from men and women wanting to buy my worn bras, panties, hair, bath water, etc. I thought farts were super niche, but also something fun, quirky, and different! It's almost like a novelty item!

One of a kind

For one novelty item, she charges a whopping $1,400 (AUD) and while it may seem like easy money, she actually puts a lot of effort into keeping her customers happy.

Firstly, to keep the farts regular and ‘pungent’, she has to maintain a gas-heavy diet which includes lots of beans, protein, and of course, hard-boiled eggs.

She also adds flower petals and a personal note to customise the fart jars even more. She said in a video:

I like to add a little flower petals. I feel like they attach the scent and make it last longer. And when I'm finally finished with my jar, I like to leave a personalised note.

Not only are her fart jars getting popular, the videos she makes about her business are also getting a lot of hits on her social media pages. In a recent video, she revealed that she made $45,000 in one week, and it got more than 200,000 views on Instagram. And given the up tick in demand, she might be posting a lot more videos about her spicy business. She added:

I have also been getting requests for videos of me creating the jars. I think I've really tapped into a huge market, and there seems to be endless potential.
