From Lawton, Oklahoma, United States, comes a story that might make you think twice about going to hang out at a friend’s place. In the video above, a man delicately places a finger on the doorbell of his friend’s house…right before being savagely attacked in the eye by a snake. Not too surprisingly, the bite causes the unlucky American to cry out in pain before running into the house, hand over eye.

The almost 5-foot-long reptile was resting on a lamp just beside the doorbell, close enough to have been frightened when the man rang. Luckily for the victim, the snake wasn’t venomous. He was rapidly transported to A & E all the same.
The animal, on the other hand, was eventually taken down by a courageous neighbour.
