After the beginning of the pandemic Erika Lust, boss of an adult entertainment company Erika Lust Films, realised that her employees were not as active as they used to be. They had less energy and were increasingly agitated. To motivate her staff, she decided to do something rather unconventional—she set up a private masturbation booth in the office.

Workplace masturbation breaks

With this new workplace initiative, Erika’s employees will get a full 30-minute masturbation breakto get their juice flowing, literally. Although she launched the benefit in May, for masturbation month, her staff will be allowed to pleasure themselves in the workplace until the end of the year. Erika said:

I value my employees and I know that when they feel good, we do good work.
With the pandemic and the huge shift in how we live our lives, I began to notice that my employees had become somewhat agitated and were performing with less energy than before.
So, knowing that there's only one thing that will make everyone feel good, I've set up a private masturbation station for them to enjoy.

Does masturbation really increase productivity?

When you masturbate, your body releases a number of different hormones including: dopamine—the happiness hormone, endorphins—which reduces stress and boosts your mood, as well as oxytocin—known to reduce levels of anxiety. All of these hormones are essential for a healthy mind and body. This is why many experts believe that having short masturbation breaks at work will improve productivity, relieve stress and anxiety, and increase overall happiness.

Metro.co.uk spoke with psychologist and life coach Dr. Cliff Arnall, who explained:

I would expect a masturbation policy to result in more focus, less aggression, higher productivity, and more smiling.
Certainly taking a masturbation break for boredom or an escape would increase work focus.

Erika is one of the only bosses in the world to actually implement workplace masturbation breaks in her business and her employees say that it will help them be more productive and creative at work. Cat, head of communications and content at the company, said:

Picture this: a team of happy employees with their creative juices flowing and being productive because they've had some time scheduled to make themselves feel good.
A masturbation break at work can result in more focus from your employees, less aggression, more productivity and better team work.
