Peaky Blinders Might Be So Popular That It's Influencing What We Name Our Children

The popular crime drama, Peaky Blinders is not only enrapturing audiences, but it’s also influencing what we name our children!

Peaky Blinders unravels behind-the-scenes details of a powerful gang that roams the streets of Birmingham. The intriguing crime drama teakes place after World War I.

Despite its darkness and action-centred drama, the well-loved series has inspired parents from England and Wales to name their kids after two of the characters in the show, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

However, while two names from Peaky Blinders gain traction on baby name lists, other names have decreased in popularity. For example, statistics claim that Alexa has dropped down on the list by a lot.

Nick Stripe, statistician, says that this may be due "the growth in the use of technology assistants in our homes". It would be tough calling for your kid while Alexa, the technology assistant, responds to you instead, wouldn’t it?
