What would happen if 4 MMA stars tried to retrieve a ball from an American football player who was running at full speed? That’s the question that the American TV show Sports Science was trying to answer. Linebacker Rudi Johnson accepted their offer to go up against Chael Sonnen, King Mo Lawal, Krzysztof Soszynski and Houston Alexander.
An NFL player and four MMA fighters. This was the challenge set out by the American TV show Sports Science around ten days ago. At the time, it was Rudi Johnson who had to go up against Chael Sonnen, King Mo Lawal, Krzysztof Soszynski and Houston Alexander. And these are fighters that are capable of delivering more than 450kg of power in one punch.
The aim of the game was for Johnson to be able to break through his opponent’s defense on each run. The rule: they are only allowed to hit the ball. Apparently, this rule wasn’t completely understood, since in the first round, they ‘tried’ to tackle the ball, but hit Johnson more than anything else. However, thanks to his legs and power, the NFL player managed to hold out and broke through the defense without any problems. Impressive.
It was on the second try that the four fighters acted a bit more skillfully and were able to take Rudi Johnson down. And yet, he only gave in when it came to the last fighter. And just like that, it’s clearly not enough to simply hit hard to get the ball. We wonder what would happen to Johnson if the positions were reversed.
