This French Muay Thai fighter took a seriously nasty blow to the head

This footage is not for the faint-hearted!

Muay Thai is one of the hardest disciplines both in training and in the ring. You only have to see the complete commitment of a living legend such as Buakaw Banchamek to be convinced of this – and this incredible injury is extra proof.

It was Muay Thai fighter Jonny Betts who revealed the image on his Facebook page. In Thailand, at the Patong Stadium, a French fighter named Jeremy suffered a terrible blow to the skull. Struck by a devastating elbow from his opponent, he was forced to leave the fight.

It took the referee a few seconds to realise the 'hole' that he had in his skull. Jeremy was operated on immediately, and the doctors placed a titanium plate in his head to reshape his skull. His brain wasn’t affected, and he probably didn't feel any specific after-effects. However, going through airport security sure must be a pain!
