The UFC on ESPN in Copenhagen (Denmark) has seen more spectacular KOs than expected. In addition to Jared Cannonier's outstanding performance at the main event against Jack Hermansson, local and former Olympian Mark Madsen also left his mark, as did Ion Cutelaba.
But despite all these great performances, the most spectacular one is to be attributed to a certain John Phillips. The Welsh Wrecking Machine, also ironically nicknamed the 'white Mike Tyson,' does not back down from a fight.
20 seconds of pure violence
The Welsh fighter always distinguishes himself by epic fights where the strategy is to hit hard in the hope that his opponent will fall before him. And with this strategy, he found a true opponent in Alen Amedovski.
After placing some hits from the outset, the Macedonian gained confidence but forgot that Phillips has a strong chin. The Welshman took the blows, then counter-attacked and hit his opponent hard twice to knock him out.
With this great victory, John Phillips may have saved his position at the UFC (he was on a three-game losing streak) and most importantly, won a £40,000 performance bonus for the evening. And above all, it pleased the Danish public!
