Former MMA Fighter Alexis Vila has recently been arrested for first degree murder. Last Tuesday the former Olympic champion and Bellator fighter was put in prison in relation to a case dating back to 2011.

Alexis “The Exorcist” Vila is a former Olympic gold medallist in wrestling but is more commonly known in for his MMA career as a Bellator fighter. Last Tuesday 17th April, he was arrested for first degree murder, also known as intentional homicide. The details of the case for which he was arrested is still unknown but it is thought to have stemmed from an incident that occurred in 2011. The incident involved a burning body that was dumped at the side of the road.

Vila is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, Florida. Being denied bail, there is a suspicion that he could be facing a lengthy sentence given that the state of Florida enforces the death penalty. This isn’t Vila’s first offence either. He was also arrested for assault back in 2004.
