A Look Back At When Jan Blachowicz KO’d Luke Rockhold In The UFC

Jan Blachowicz crushed Luke Rockhold's title dreams in the light heavyweight division at the UFC 239 main event, knocking him out in his first fight in his new category.

UFC 239: All Blachowicz

In the main bouts of UFC 239, Luke Rockhold was making his debut in his new category. A new start, with a clear ambition to go for the Under 205 lbs title held by Jon Jones. The only downside was that the American crossed paths with a class-leading fighter in Jan Blachowicz. The Pole not only ruined Rockhold's dreams but perhaps ended his career.

It is with a left hook that the Pole got his biggest victory. A victory that he reflected on, when talking to Megan Olivi :

‘I don’t believe it yet, but I feel great. Tomorrow, when I wake up with a hangover, I’ll know what I have done. The beginning of the fight was for him, but the end was for me. I felt great in the fight, it was my night. I saw his left hand in my dreams all the time, I knew it would come. I don’t know how many times I watched his fight against Michael Bisping, I knew I would finish in the same way.’
