The third installment in the possessed doll’s saga hits cinemas in July.
Cinema’s freakiest doll is getting ready for its comeback. This Saturday, March 30, Warner released its first trailer of the third installment of the Annabelle saga, baptized Annabelle Comes Home. With an expected release date set for July 10th, this new spin-off will also serve as a bridge with the Conjuring universe, as the presence of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera) in the terrifying two-minute trailer proves.
As for the plot, here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the possessed doll to the locked artifacts room in their home, placing her “safely” behind sacred glass and enlisting a priest’s holy blessing. But an unholy night of horror awaits as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the room, who all set their sights on a new target—the Warrens’ ten-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends.’
And if having to wait until July 10th feels unbearable, another Conjuring universe spin-off is set to hit cinemas on April 17th: ‘The Curse of La Llorona.’
