Jake Smith was 15 years old when he injured himself playing basketball. He suffered a skull fracture and needed emergency surgery. When he woke up from the anesthesia, an incredible pain washed over him. According to his own statements, his face constantly feels like someone is stabbing it with an ice pick.
On a pain scale of 1 to 10, Jake classifies what happens to his face as a 10 (only certain types of ants can cause a similar pain). Doctors diagnosed Jake with trigeminal neuralgia or TN for short, the 'most painful disease in the world.' The pain is caused by the contact of the trigeminal nerve with the cerebral artery and manifests itself in attacks of pain that can occur several times a day.
Doctors also refer to this disease as the suicide disease: they assume that the symptoms are the worst pain a person can feel. Many patients, therefore, see no other way out than death.
The unbelievable happens
For Jake Smith, there was no cure in sight, considered unsuitable for surgery it seemed as though he would have to suffer this condition for the rest of his life. However, he didn't let him get it downbut instead tried to distract himself with music. One day Jake went to church and took part in a "healing session". There he fainted and when he woke up, the pain has disappeared!
It's a miracle that doctors just can't explain (similar to the case of the boy who should have been declared dead after a cardiac arrest). And neither can he himself. He told The Denver Channel:
It is a miracle. TN is incurable, it's a miracle,
