Amanda McLaughlin was diagnosed with persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD). The young woman is addicted to sex and regularly begs her partner to sleep with her in order to ‘relieve’ her for a few hours.

PGAD: Excruciating painful

It's a pathology that many people have trouble understanding. Amanda McLaughlin, 27, has been a sex addict all her life. Since the age of 13, she constantly feels like she is about to orgasm. She tries to fight her sex addiction but is often misunderstood by those around her.

When Amanda does have sex, it only gives her relief for a few hours. She told the BBC that her addiction is a real handicap in everyday life. She suffers greatly when struggling with her cravings. She explained that she has pain in her legs and pelvic muscles. The young woman begs her partner to have sex with her several times a day.

Fortunately, her partner is doing everything he can to help her with her sex addiction. But Amanda's family has not always been so understanding. Her mother, Victoria, didn't believe her daughter when she told her that she has to have sex several times a day. Amanda was even called a ‘slut’ by some of her relatives. A painful situation for her, who has always felt helpless in the face of her hypersexuality.

As a teenager, Amanda masturbated a lot, but this got worse around the age of 18. Now, she is determined to fight the sex addiction that has caused her so much pain. She told the BBC that she is going to undergo different therapies with a neurologist at the University of Michigan. She hopes that this will help her to return to a normal life and no longer be judged…
