After experiencing problems when trying to read her text messages, 19-year-old student Charlotte Taylor realised something wasn’t quite right. At first glance doctors couldn’t find any problems but she took it upon herself to get a general eye test. This eye test revealed that there was a bigger problem.
For a lot of us, if there’s a minor issue with our health, we’ll put off going to the doctors until it’s absolutely necessary. But when Charlotte Taylor was finding it harder and harder to read her text messages, she knew something was wrong. At first glance doctors could not find any problems. It was only when she went for an eye test that she discovered the real problem.
The opticians revealed that there was a bigger problem with the optic nerves in her eye. After recommending she go immediately to Birmingham Eye Hospital they found that the optic nerves had become severely inflamed and swollen. Further analysis at A&E however revealed that the problem was even worse than initially expected. Charlotte had developed an inoperable brain tumour.
