A Podiatrist Pulled Out The Biggest Ram's Horn Nail He May Have Ever Seen (Video)

Toenails are not the most popular part of the human body. Lots of actually find feat and toes quite disturbing, with no surprise. They can start to look pretty gruesome since they are subject to lots of blows and horrible footwear that can cause some issues both visually and physically.

This is where Dr. Todd Brennan comes in. Dr. Brennan is a reputable podiatrist based in Wesley Chapel, Florida. He is only 35 years old and has his own podiatry clinic called Healthy Feet.

He was amazed when he saw the toenail of a new patient. The nail was so big that he decided that the best thing he could do was to remove the entire thing!

The patient suffered from what is commonly known as ram's horn nail, the scientific name is Onychogryphosis. It is often found in the toenails of the big toe.

Onychogryphosis is characterized by an exaggerated increase in the thickness of the nails, which causes them to curl in a spiral. Although they are most commonly found on the toenails of the big toe, they can be found on any nails of the feet and hands.

It mainly affects the elderly, but young people can also suffer from Onychogryphosis. The most common causes are inappropriate or too narrow footwear, repetitive strokes, psoriasis, osteoarthritis or cardiovascular diseases.

In the video, you can see Dr. Brennan's intervention but be warned, it's not for the squeamish...
