The grand finale of Game of Thrones is coming, but according to the show’s creators, some fans are not going to be happy with the long-awaited climax of the series.
Game of Thrones is surely the most popular series of recent years so there are big expectations for its final series - and a lot of pressure on the show’s creators to deliver a good ending. But when you have a series with such a large community of fans, it is very difficult to please everyone, as D.B. Weiss and David Benioff told EW.
D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, the creators of the series are beginning to tease the last season. As the end of Games of Thrones approaches, they gave clues on EW about the latest sequence of the series. First, they said they wanted to make all the decisions regarding the ending: ‘When you have been working on something for so long, you have specific ideas of how each moment should happen ... Therefore the Games of Thrones’ creators expect some bad reviews, and are ready to take responsibility for the disappointment some fans may have: ‘We want people to love the end. It is important for us, we spent 11 years elaborating this (...) We also know that however it ends, even if it's the most optimal version, a number of people will hate the best of all possible versions. There is no version where everyone will think: ‘I agree with everyone, it's perfect.’ It's an impossible reality, it’s not happening’
What is their goal? What D.B. Weiss and David Benioff want, is for fans to react like they did for the ending of Breaking Bad: ‘I hope we'll have the same discussion as Breaking Bad where people were wondering if it was an A or an A +,’ Weiss told EW. There’s not much longer to wait…
